NEW YORK - Sep. 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ - The Israel Ministry of Tourism today released new records for the number of tourists coming in Israel from the United States in July and august. Israel welcomed 78,000 tourists from the United States for July 2022. This is a 4 percent increase over 2019 and 71,000 visitors from the United States for August 2022. This is an increase of 13% from the year before.
Eyal Carlin was the North American Tourism Commissioner. "It is thrilling to once again witness an increase in tourism Israel from the United States. Already reaching the record-breaking numbers of the year 2019," he stated. "The United States remains our largest market for Israel-bound tourism. Before the outbreak of COVID-19 that was in the news, we had record-breaking monthly numbers of tourists entering the country. We are delighted to witness this change and are expecting a steady upward trend for months, and possibly years.
Canada is on track to beat Israel's tourism arrivals 7200 tourists are expected to visit Israel in July 2022 and 6,600 in August.
"It is exciting to see how Canada's tourism to Israel is booming," said Gal Hana Director and Consul for Canada of the Israel Ministry of Tourism. We're not too away from our record-setting 2019 numbers and we expect that this increase in Israel travel will continue to increase as Canadians find it easier to travel internationally."
