NEW YORK - Sept. 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ - Today the Israel Ministry of Tourism announced record-breaking numbers of travelers from the United States who visited Israel in July and August. Israel received 78,000 visitors from the United States during July 2022 which was an increase by 4% over 2019 and 71,000 travelers from the United States during August 2022. That's 13% growth over 2019.
Eyal Carlin is the North American Tourism Commissioner. He stated, "It's so exciting to once more see an increase of tourism to Israel from America, which is already reaching or surpassing our record breaking numbers of 2019". "The United States remains our largest market for Israel-bound tourism. Prior to the outbreak of COVID-19, we were celebrating record-breaking tourism numbers each month. We are delighted to see this positive shift and expect a steady upward trend for months or even years.
Canada is poised to beat Israel's tourism arrivals 7200 tourists are expected to visit Israel in July 2022 and 6,600 tourists in August.

"We aren't far off our record for 2019, and we anticipate that the rise in travel to Israel will continue to increase because Canadians are more comfortable traveling across the globe."
Israel received more than 4.6 million tourists in 2019. 969,600 of them were from the United States. The country's official reopening to all travelers in May has seen more than 600,000.
