NEW YORK - Sept. 8th, 2022/PRNewswire• In July and August of 2018, the Israel Ministry of Tourism announced record numbers of tourists arriving from America. The country welcomed 78,000 tourists from the United States during July 2022 which was an increase of 4% over 2019 and 71,000 visitors from the United States during August 2022. This is a 13% increase over the year before.
Eyal Carlin (North American Tourism Commissioner) stated that it was thrilling to witness an increase in tourism to Israel coming from the United States. Already surpassing the record-breaking numbers of 2019, he added. "The United States remains our largest market for Israel-bound tourism. Before the COVID-19 epidemic that was in the news, we had record-breaking tourism numbers each month. We are delighted to see this positive shift and anticipate an ongoing upward trend for months, and possibly years.
Canada is also on track, as the United States, to surpass its tourist arrivals into Israel. https://nevefrietzki.co.il/ In July 2022 Canada saw 7,200 tourists and August was a record 6,000.
"It is thrilling to see how tourism from Canada to Israel is growing," said Gal Hana Consul and Director of Canada of the Israel Ministry of Tourism. "We are not far off our record numbers for 2019 We are hoping that this growth in travel to Israel will further increase as Canadians remain comfortable traveling abroad."
Israel welcomed over 4.6 million visitors in the year 2019. 969,600 were from the United States. The country's official reopening for all tourists in May has seen more than 600,000.
