NEW YORK - Sep. 8 2022 /PRNewswire/ The Israel Ministry of Tourism today announced new records for the number of tourists coming in Israel from the United States in July and August. Israel received 78,000 visitors from the United States during July 2022 which is an increase of 4% over the year before and 71,000 travelers from the United States during August 2022. That's 13% increase over the year before.
Eyal Carlin was the North American Tourism Commissioner. "It is exciting to see a new rise in tourism to Israel from the United States. Already reaching the record-breaking numbers in 2019," he stated. "The United States has been our largest destination for tourism to Israel that is inbound. Before the COVID-19 outbreak we had been celebrating record-breaking number of Israeli tourism entries every month.
Canada is set to surpass Israel's arrivals in tourist numbers 7200 tourists are expected to visit Israel in the month of July 2022 and 6,600 tourists in August.
Gal Hana (Consul and Director for Canada, Israel Ministry of Tourism) declared that "it is thrilling to see how Canada's tourism to Israel is growing." We're close to reaching our record numbers for 2019 and we expect that this surge in tourism to Israel will continue to grow as Canadians feel more at home in Israel.
Israel welcomed more tourists from around the world in 2019 than any other nation. 969 600 were American. Israel's official opening for all tourists was in May of 2018. The country has welcomed over 600,400 US tourists since the time of opening.
