The email you have added serves as your username for your previously unlinked Steam account (plus the password). Once you reopen your OSRS client, you can click "Log-in with an existing account". You'll be directed to Jagex's website after you click the Continue button. Here you can enter your email/login and pw. This will allow you to connect to Steam.
Do not click "Create new account using Steam to create a new account," as you'll be just connecting and creating a new Steam-created account. In case you make a mistake and you create a new account, you will need to do the same thing you did before adding an email login, add a password to the RS account and then remove it from your Steam account.

Tip: An email login/username doesn't have to be real at this point, you just need the format ([email protected]) Afterwards, adding email verification to your account needs a real email.
Log in using RL/mobile with the username/email/login and password from your RS account.

Yes, but when I went to the unlink screen it didnt let me register an email. I also read that when you attempt to unlink it will show an error if you don't have an email, so i unlinked it and now the email from my steam account will not work to sign into osrs at all , so i'm stuck as I have tried signing in with the username or email, it won't work.
It's not possible to go to the screen to un-link at the moment, Jagex is having issues server-side , so players aren't able to log in to the game or access their account settings. You will need to wait for more announcement before you can access the un-link screen.
