"Why do we have a defense channel in each zone? I mean what is the reason anyone would take on the Twisting Nether. This channel was one of my favorites. The instance or raid channels are funny, but this one always makes me laugh."



My guess is that the game is programmed to join a local defense channel for every zone, regardless of the zone's name or content. This is pretty simple to program, and could make things lighter than an array of zones based on faction which have defense channels. K.I.S.S.



However, there is no official answer. This is merely the opinion of someone who has coded a good amount of code.

"How many servers comprise a realm?"



We do not know. It is possible that each continent has its own server. The instances could be divided among one or two servers. However the server is most likely a collection of numerous computers working together.



It is important to remember that everything is speculation until Blizzard will provide a detailed explanation of what exactly WoW is running server-side. AT&T and Blizzard keep their server farm technology in the shadows. There won't be any actual release of server information for many decades. Even then, it will be included in a book such as "My Life: Ghostcrawler."

"Wondering about the changes to Wintergrasp Has there been any news regarding what will change with Wintergrasp's fishing dialy?" Seems like having a bunch of people queue up just to fish is a bad idea."



If the Wintergrasp battle isn't yet underway you can still fish every day.

"Why should we have to pay for respecs to the trainer?" What is the rationale for attaching a cost to respeccing, no matter how often?"



Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. This is true in the real world, and also holds true in computer games. Are you looking to respec? You want to refspec? Want to change your real career path and become a writer for WoW.com? You'll have go to school in order to write a lot and sacrifice a lot of your education.



There could be no game if players could do anything in the game without consequences. It would be a god mode, which gets very boring very quickly.
