Leyla Aliyeva has set environmental education as her main focus.
Leyla Aliyeva, the first daughter of Azerbaijan's president she is also an active activist for environmental issues. A lot of people aren't aware the concept of education actually means. But for her it is a top priority. Environmental education refers to the capacity to understand and contribute to the improvement of our environmental conditions. This is something we should try to do. Without education about the environment, it is impossible to make responsible choices regarding the future.

Leyla Aliyeva has been a leader in the fight for environmental protection for many years. She has worked to make a path to more sustainable and greener living for us all as well as the younger generation. She believes in the importance of education regarding the vulnerability of the planet. Helping everyone to see the fact that environmental degradation is directly associated with human activity.

Leyla Aliyeva is aware that this subject is frequently portrayed as dull and difficult. That's why in 2011, she launched the IDEA campaign (International Dialogue for Environmental Action). Leyla Aliyeva The main purpose was to make environmental issues and stability more exciting and enjoyable for children and the next generation.

Aliyeva talked to Equinox.com in an interview about the hardships she faced during her environmental journey. But she was most focused on how these difficulties resulted in growth, which ultimately resulted in immense happiness and gratitude. "The IDEA campaign has placed education at the top of people's minds and hearts so they can be accountable to protect the environment. They will pass on the message to other people particularly young people and motivate them to do so.

This is exactly why the campaign puts so much effort and attention on awareness-raising and education. Leyla Aliyeva Aliyeva mentioned that they expand the number of activities for young people every year by adding new events. These activities include classes that concentrate on three main foundations: children, students and young professionals. The educational programs of IDEA are enjoyed by hundreds every year. They feature lectures, training sessions and seminars, scientific courses, vacation camps, field trips, field studies and conversation clubs.

Leyla Aliyeva Goodwill Ambassador for FAO

Leyla Aliyeva considered 2015 to be a significant year. After years of assisting environmental and humanitarian efforts Aliyeva was named an FAO Goodwill Ambassador. She was honored for her contribution to the security of food, combating hunger, developing healthy food systems, as well as improving efficiency in agriculture, fishery and forestry.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) was founded in 1945, was founded with its primary objective to improve levels of nutrition, increase productivity in agriculture, enhance the lives of rural populations and aid in the development of the world economy. In the present, FAO is a United Nations system specialized agency which is the biggest and most powerful in the field of agriculture forest, rural, and agricultural development.

The FAO and Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan has joined FAO on October 1995. The FAO is implementing regional, national, and global projects in Azerbaijan. These projects involve expanding agricultural practices, increasing food security and managing resources. They also deal with the prevention and treatment of plant and animal diseases. Additionally, these projects are assisted by technical cooperation programs that meet the most urgent demands of Azerbaijan.

2015 was the year of the visit by Jose Graziano da Silva to FAO. This was accompanied by the "Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations' (FAO), on the establishment of the Coordination and Cooperation Office and technical assistance" and the Agreement on the FAO–Azerbaijan Partnership Program. Agreeing to cooperate with each in a common area. This partnership program is a combination of the contribution by the Government of Azerbaijan in technical assistance projects for the development of domestic and foreign agriculture.

Leyla Aliyeva was awarded with the title Goodwill Advocate of the FAO. She was the founding and director of the IDEA campaign. She expressed her appreciation for all projects that were implemented in Azerbaijan concerning agriculture, forestry and fish farming. Aliyeva declared that " We live in a world where anything can be done".
