Remember, your topic sentence should specifically answer the question. However, to answer the question, you must also identify what Cox’s assessment is: What is she saying about fear and college students? (This could be a few sentences at the beginning of your paragraph or discussed throughout, depending on your organization.) Then, because it is so important to tell you own story (rather than allow someone else—like Cox—tell it for you) I want you to support your claim with examples from your own college experience.
Is Rebecca Cox’s assessment of fear and college students correct?

Yes, I believe that Rebecca's assessment of fear and college students is correct. when she mentions the reasons of students being intimidated because they believe that they're dumb, the statement " Citing an “underlying fear” that they would be “exposed” in front of their peers and professors “as too stupid for college classes,” many of the students observed by Cox “exhibited very low tolerance for feeling confused or making mistakes” and often did not seek extra assistance." what she is trying to indicate is that they don't want to feel the pressure that professors give them for needing assistance on an assignment so then the first generation of college students end up fussing and not attaining the work. What I'm trying to state in my words is that students don't seek out for assistance due to the reasons listed above of feeling intimidated. A story I would like to share is a time I was in my automotive class working with a transmission and if anyone didn't know transmission should come out and placed how they are made so you can't switch anything around and/or miss up the pattern on the gears or anything. At the time in the beginning, I was working on a ford transmission, and I was supposed to put on a gear a certain way and I was distracted from other classmates finishing up while I was struggling getting the gears in the right order, then I didn't reach out for assistance and put the gears in a random order. It was coming to an end of class time and I was being pressured on my own, so I asked my partner for help and we had the gears the exact same pattern and both thought it was right, our professor then comes around our table tells us we have it wrong but there is no problem he then takes my transmission unbuilds it and tells me the thinner plates on gears the thicker gears on the bottom he puts it back in in less than two minutes. This can relate to my claim on being
