In a blog post on Wednesday, Mojang said NFTs don't align with Minecraft's principles and are therefore not allowed in the game.
"The speculation-based pricing and investment mentality around NFTs diverts attention from the game and encourages profiteering, which we believe is incompatible with the long-term happiness and success of our players," the company said.

The company stated that blockchain technologies are not allowed to be integrated into our Minecraft client or server applications, nor can be used to create NFTs that are linked to any in-game content.
NFTs are a tense issue among gamers, who have pushed back on initiatives from Ubisoft and other publishers aimed at incorporating the technology into their games.
It was purchased by Microsoft in 2014 for $2.5 billion, Minecraft is the best-selling game ever, with a lifetime sale of more than 238 million units. The game's success can be attributable to its commitment to accessibility and being family-friendly.
