Week 40: Bath

It was not the ideal way to start the week. We discovered a water leak from the bathroom on Monday morning. The water was flowing down the ceiling and into the server cupboard which houses the fusebox, boiler and my rack. The router was dead and bubbling, but we didn't short the electrical circuits. It could have been more serious. MINECRAFT SERVERS The shower head, which was in its holster and left on its lowest setting to drip water into the room below, was the cause.

- I had a dentist appointment at 9am that day and the added stress was not a good idea! I was a bit flustered as I sat under the bright light, thinking about my soggy home but thankfully everything was well with my teeth.

I was concerned that the bath was still leaking. I took off the side panel with a Stanley knife. This proved a waste of time as I discovered that our bathroom was fitted with tiles and its underside was made inaccessible. Great.

My dad came to seal the bath and reassure us that everything would be perfectly. It appears we'll have to dry the cabinet and paint the ceiling and wall at some point.

In preparation for their Jubilee party The boys have been learning about the Queen at school. The whole school gathered to have an Jubilee tea party after the school decorated their playground with blue, red and white bunting. They could both say the age of their mother, as well as other royal facts they've learned.

We finally bought a Nintendo Switch. H had been wanting one for a long time but it wasn't at the right time. He was too young. They were out of inventory. The price was often increased and the price was often inflated. But with an John Lewis offer we purchased the newish OLED version, extra Joy-Cons and three games: Minecraft, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Super Mario 3D World (with Bowser's Fury). It's as well-designed as I'd think and the games are just as awesome as I had hoped from Nintendo.

We made it clear that this was the family Switch to ensure that his younger brother and father (and dad!) could play. can play, and he won't claim it as his. When we unveiled the box it was bouncing around the living room with the most gleeful smile on his face. It was exciting to see it in action, but nothing can compare to the joy it brought to his life.
