Limiting RF-EMF Exposure throughout Children
If your kid is under the age of 10 and you are concerned about their exposure to RF radiation. If so, read on to learn about the dangers and benefits of limiting exposure RF radiation. It's important to keep your children's health in mind. A couple of lifestyle changes could go a long way.

Exposure to radiofrequency (RF) in children
The Dutch ABCD Study and the Spanish INMA Project involved two populations of kids, and parents. The study populations collected information regarding the use of screens devices and determined the total exposure to RF-EMF. Exposure levels were determined using a combined exposure algorithm that took into account all the factors that could impact a child's exposure. The participants also completed validated cognitive tests to measure the IQ of non-verbal and verbal, working memory, attention tasks as well as cold executive function. visuomotor coordination, as well as processing speed.

The study measured the environmental RF-EMF exposure of 529 children across five European countries. emf children recorded in the children ranged from 87.5 MHz up to six GHz. Children wore small, portable "experimenters" that monitored their exposures while playing outdoors and using handheld devices. They were also asked to complete questionnaires and activity journals to keep track of the time they spent using their handheld devices.

The total exposure to RF-EMF exposure was very low, ranging from 0.13% to 0.92 percent from the reference ICNIRP level per second. Participants in the study were less likely to be using mobile phones than adults, with the majority using them for less than five minutes in the afternoon time.

The FCC established limits on the RF radiation levels children must be exposed to in their daily environments. However, this limit was set in the past 25 years, and the FCC should take into consideration current scientific research and update its limits to ensure children's health. The limits of exposure to RF should be lower than the federal limit, which is 0.4 mW/kg.

Children's exposure to radiofrequency radiation is mostly based on their abdominal and torso. The ICNIRP guidelines should establish the exposure limits for the various body parts of children. They should also release an appropriate safety margin for each area. They aren't the only data that must be included in the study.
