As part of the 42-kilometer Jerusalem Ring Path cycling route, which surrounds the capital city, the Kerem Tunnel was inaugurated.

The tunnel links Nahal Refaim and Emek Motza. Its southern entrance is in Refaim Park, below Ein Laban, and the northern entrance is in Nahal Ein Kerem, about half a kilometer from the Kerem junction.

Construction of roads, the installation and testing of safety and electrical systems are just a few of the ongoing works to make the tunnel safer for all seasons.

The Kerem Tunnel allows for access to unique recreation areas, for instance Ein Kerem, a neighborhood that includes a biblical aquarium and zoo, and also the ancient natural springs Ein Haniyeh and Ein Laban.
