Some Cats Seem Born For Trouble


First, you won't have to share your bed with your pet. Cats tend to seek warm, cozy spots and sleeping with you is often their first choice. If you have allergy issues, this may prove to be uncomfortable for you. Since felines are nocturnal, you may not appreciate one pouncing on your head or belly and waking you up. And then there are those mysterious scratches on you that you don't remember getting since you were probably snoozing when a certain someone decided to use your body as a launching pad.

I was taught years ago that diffusing the oils in warm water is an amazingly effective way to fill a room with the aromatic vapours. The molecules of essential oil "piggy back" on the molecules of water vapor, which disperse amazingly fast. This makes the aroma lamp almost as effective for therapeutic benefits as a nebulizing diffuser.

Speaking of warmth, heated cat beds are fabulous. Some of my older cats are getting a bit arthritic and the heated bed gives them so much comfort. They usually come out of them much more limber than when they went in. Heated cat beds are also wonderful if you have a sick cat or one recovering from surgery. They are very therapeutic. If you live in a cold climate, your cat will need a heated bed just like you need an electric blanket. I live in the South, but still use the heated kind. I've found that with the air conditioner blasting away, my cats still love to curl up in their warm haven.

Many cat beds have a pillows made of fleece to keep them warm. They are oval shaped and have high sides or they may be completely enclosed. Cats like to find a secure, warm spot to rest. For many, getting into the tight warm couch cushion seems like the ideal place.
