Neve Paritzki Israel celebrates record-breaking tourism entry Numbers from the United States
NEW YORK - Sept. 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ - Today the Israel Ministry of Tourism revealed record-breaking numbers of tourists from the United States who visited Israel in the months of July and August. The country received 78,000 travelers from the United States during July 2022 which is an increase by 4% over 2019 and 71,000 tourists from the United States during August 2022. That's 13% growth over 2019.


Eyal Carlin is the North American Tourism Commissioner of the United States. He said, "It's so exciting to witness a further increasing number of tourists visiting Israel from the United States, and already reaching or surpassing our record breaking numbers of 2019". "The United States has been our largest source of tourism for Israel inbound. Prior to the outbreak of COVID-19, we had record numbers of Israel's tourism entry every month.

Canada is also on track, just like the United States, to surpass the amount of tourists that visit Israel. In July 2022 Canada had 7,200 visitors while August was a record 6,000.

Gal Hana, Consul for Canada and Director of the Israel Ministry of Tourism declared that "it's amazing to see how tourism in Canada is recovering." "We are getting close to our record numbers for the year 2019. We anticipate that this growth will continue as Canadians visit more countries.

Israel received more than 4.6 million tourists in 2019. 969,600 of them were of the United States. The country's official reopening to all travelers in May was a success, with more than 600,000.
