Crytek is a company known for graphically stunning first-person shooters, is joining forces with DeNA to join the free-to play mobile game market with The Collectables.
Using a modified version of the Crytek engine, The Collectables is what you'd expect from an Crytek game: "intense combat, extreme gunfights, 3D battlefields and classic larger-than-life action heroes to give players a truly mobile game experience." Pre-orders of the game will get access to an in-game character that has limited-time gear.
There's no information regarding the date The Collectables should debut, though Crytek and DeNA hope to have it available in 2014.
Mobile Gamers Get Blockbuster Action from Crytek and DeNA with The Collectables
San Francisco (USA) / Frankfurt am Main (Germany) 11 December 2013 (USA) / Frankfurt am Main (Germany) - Crytek has joined forces with the top mobile games firm DeNA to develop its first free-to-play mobile game called The Collectables.
The Collectables is available on iPhone, iPad, and Android devices via the mobile gaming platform of DeNA Mobage. It features stunning graphics built on Crytek's CRYENGINE technology. The game is a mix of strategy and action as players lead a squad of unconventional soldiers on do-or-die missions across the world.
"DeNA offers unparalleled experience in the field of mobile gaming, and we're excited to be working with their team to offer The Collectables to players," said Paha Schulz Director of Business Development, Games-as-a-Service at Crytek. "The Collectables will be the first mobile game to be free to play that leverages Crytek's cutting-edge 3D game technology CRYENGINE."

The Collectables features over-the-top gunfights as well as classic action heroes. Players can form an army of a variety of soldiers and then upgrade their weapons and abilities to go into combat. With a variety of enemies to fight and game-changing rewards to unlock and immersive 3D battlegrounds to conquer, The Collectables will keep everyone coming back to the front line when it launches in 2014.
Pre-registration for The Collectables will notify players when the game becomes available for download for free.
