The Kerem Tunnel provides a unique adventure in hiking and riding which is enjoyed by all.
The Kerem Tunnel, the first cycle tunnel in Israel is now open in the Jerusalem Ring Path, a 42-kilometer cycle path that runs around Jerusalem, the capital city.

נווה פריצקי נווה פריצקי It connects Nahal Refaim to Emek Motza. The tunnel's southern entrance is below Ein Laban in Refaim Park. The northern entrance is located in Nahal Ein Kerem.


The 2.1-kilometer-long tunnel was officially opened by Jerusalem's Heritage Minister Zeev Elkin. The ceremony was also attended by Mayor Moshelion, Avi Balehnikov, Gihon Water Company Chairman, and many cyclists.

Jerusalem was once a sought-after tourist destination due to its rich history. Elkin stated that, today aside from its rich history, Jerusalem also incorporates modern tourists. "The inauguration of [this] tunnel is another aspect of the expansion of the city of Jerusalem and its transformation into a dazzling tourist destination for all kinds of people in Israel and around the world."

In the 90s In the 90s, in the 1990s, Kerem Tunnel was excavated to relocate the main sewer line from Gihon Corporation to the Sorek purification plant. It is currently used as an infrastructure tunnel. It houses the fifth water line that connects to Jerusalem from the Mekorot water company.

The works currently underway include road construction, installation of blowers as well as modern security and electrical systems to ensure the tunnel is safe for the public to pass through all year round.
