So lets say you bet making the pot odds 2 to 1 and he chases it. Sometimes visit here will have to fold because he will hit but he will only hit 4 out of 1 times or so. Therefore this play will show a profit for you if he continues to chase and you should eventually come out ahead.

When 5 players double their buy in and 5 get nothing, your only goal is to outlast 5 other players. Surviving is the key to making money and you will make the money an above average amount of time playing TAG. There may even be times when you make the money without ever playing a hand.

The percentages found in the figures are the probability the listed hole cards would win if the hand should go to the river at a full table of nine or ten players. The probability of having Ace-Ace as the hole cards and subsequently winning increases from 31% with nine opponents to over 85% in heads-up play. The reason for this dramatic difference is that in ten-handed play, any of your nine opponents can win the hand. Taking the individual statistics of each of the nine other hands and adding them together, at best, the sum equals 69%.

Check Raise: This is also known as trapping. The check raise works by acting weak in hopes of hiding your strength. With any luck, this will encourage a bluff or at least a misinformed bet from your opponent to get him to put his chips to the pot.

The number three thing to do is to incorporate psychological tactics into your overall game. Learning how to do this is vitally important for success in poker.
