Today's MMO Report is sad to report that it is without Casey Schreiner. All is well, Morgan Webb from G4 has been appointed to cover Casey's birthday.
The announcement that NCSoft will shut down the North American Lineage servers is the first order of business. All accounts that were inactive for the game that was 13 years old have been reactivated and the game will remain accessible for free until the servers are shut down.
We are now moving into Guild Wars 2, the highly anticipated sequel. This confirms that Lion's Arch - a social hub that was featured in the first game - will return in Guild Wars 2. Take a look at our coverage of the reveal of the fly-through video, as well as some insight from Rubi Bayer.
Next up is screen-time for Minecraft. Balonium Although the game isn't really an MMO, it's clear that Minecraft has enjoyed a huge popularity in the gaming world. Morgan reports that Minecraft creator Notch is contemplating organizing an event in Las Vegas launch party... perhaps a convention, tentatively scheduled for November 11th.
Star Wars: The Old Republic’s Sith Inquisitor trailer was released earlier this week. The character is described by Morgan as "the one player character you really don't want to meet in a dark corner," the class incorporates elements of both spellcasters and stealth classes into a single Force-powered mix.
We also have a walkthrough of the Ether Saga Odyssey's beginning zones from Perfect World Entertainment. The free-to-play MMO launched late last month.
