In less than a decade, Technoblade amassed nearly 11 million YouTube subscribers and 3.7 million Twitter followers, as he shared his passion for Minecraft, a video game where users can build virtual worlds from blocks and come up with their own stories. Technoblade announced his cancer diagnosis back in August 2021, revealing to his followers via an interview of him playing the game that he sought medical attention due to pain in his arm which he initially believed was an injury caused by repetitive stress from gaming.
Technoblade's father said that Technoblade sent his last message eight hours before his death. Holding back tears, Technoblade's father described his son as "the most wonderful kid" anyone could ask for, and added: "I miss Technoblade."
Technoblade's father broke the devastating news to viewers on his channel.
Technoblade's family released a statement saying that Technoblade had suffered many things while fighting cancer of stage 4. The video has been watched more than 19 million times. YouTuber Ted Nivison recalled him as "Effortlessly humorous." Incredibly talented. It's gone too quickly. Rest at ease Technoblade.
TommyInnit Another YouTuber who is popular, wrote on Twitter: "Technoblade is a legendary figure. From being a huge fan, to being one of his actual friends, I can't describe how thankful I am to have had the privilege of being in his life. I'm sure he's planning in heaven on how to beat God."
In a statement to CNN, Sarcoma Foundation of America paid tribute to Technoblade, sharing "deepest condolences with his family."
Brandi Felser is the CEO of the charity. This enabled SFA to award research grants in Technoblade's name. Through these efforts, he leaves a legacy that will impact generations to come."
Felser said that Technoblade will be recognized by the organization's Courage Award, an annual award that is given to those who inspire others "to create hope and a better future for the Sarcoma community" in the course of this year.
