About This Quiz As described by The New Yorker as a hybrid of Minecraft and the Hunger Games, this video game is extremely popular with kids, tweens, teens and beyond. In the brief time period between its launch in September 2017 and November 2018 the epic battle game attracted 200 million players around the world. Of these, 78.3 million are active players. Not sure about that significance? If you are a gamer think about how many games are covered in dust.

It's not just kids playing in their parents basements. Celebrities and athletes are obsessed with the sport. Drake was one of the first to break the record for non-tournament Twitch viewers and broke it with Ninja. Ninja had 635,000 concurrent viewers at peak time on their live streaming stream. The game's popularity is well-known because JuJu Smith-Schuster from the Steelers, Josh Hart from Los Angeles Lakers and many other professional baseball players are regular participants. Eric Ebron, Indianapolis Colts tight end, even incorporates the game into a celebratory touchdown dancing.

It's not all roses and sunshine for Fortnite, though. Fortnite has been criticized for its use of popular dance moves and is currently suing to determine whether copyright laws are violated. Fortnite has even gotten to the point of being so huge (or out of control, depending on your point of view) that parents are hiring coaches to help their kids achieve success in the virtual world. What do you feel about this global phenomenon? Learn more about Fortnite - or be extra fashionable and get to know more with this quiz!

Nothing, it's free.

Fortnite Battle Royale's genius is its free download to any gaming device. V-Bucks can be used to purchase skins, pickaxes, gliders, battle passes, and other items that are available in Fortnite Battle Royale. Fortnite Save the World, the latest version of the game, is available. Players have to buy it. However, the creator Epic Games says it'll become free to play sometime in 2018.

Shopping cart

You're correct, a standard shopping trolley is a vehicle in Fortnite terms. The golf cart is the only other vehicle that is currently available. Why is this? Epic Games has expressed concern regarding how the addition of new vehicles will impact the overall flow of the game.

Season 4 saw the dramatic destruction of Dusty Depot by a meteor that transformed it into the Dusty Divot. Incidentally all locations in the game have alliteration in their names - Loot Lake, Greasy Grove, and the list goes on.

50 vs 50

Playground

Epic Games determines the time limits for LTM modes. Playground mode allows four players to test their skills that they use within the game. Players are able to be killed in Playground mode, but they are able to respawn in a flash unlike the normal game mode.

These pinatas are also known as "loot-llamas" and spawn automatically in the game (only three locations in Battle Royale and 100 in Playground mode). They contain 200 items from every resource such as brick, wood, and metal. They also contain explosives, potions, med kits and other helpful items.

All of Fortnite's many weapons are coded according to how scarce they are to find in the game, and have a descriptive name. From the least to the most rare, they are: Gray/Common Blue/Rare, Green/Uncommon Purple/Epic, Gold/Legendary.

Players can dance emotes, also known as "dance moves," in the game. They can perform this wherever they like, including the lobby or the battlefield. Mc List Aside from "Fresh," which is based off "The Carlton" players can also opt to perform choreography such as "The Worm," Take the L" or "Disco Fever" which are all based off John Travolta’s famous "Saturday Night Fever” moves.

Katy Perry

Alfonso Ribeiro

The backpack kid

If you haven’t seen someone floss, it is likely that your eyes haven't been opened. The dance was invented by a teenage YouTube sensation in 2016, well before Fortnite was released. He was dubbed "the backpack boy" and later performed the bizarrely hypnotic move on Saturday Night Live with Katy Perry. Fortnite added the dance to its dance emotes, and it made quite a splash.
