Xbox has teamed up with the preservation society National Trust (opens in new tab) and some British creatives to create a Minecraft model of Corfe Castle. The complex, impressive build was sponsored by Xbox UK as part of the National Trust's archaeology festival, encouraging people to create "their own version of the ruin using the foundations."
Grian who is a YouTube video maker, has created this first build. You can see his work in the video above as well as on YouTube. (opens in a new tab) Grian created a build that highlights the most striking Corfe Castle's highlights, including its historical octagonal tower, miniature palace and "Gloriette". welcome to my hut According to my understanding, is kind of like an opulent medieval version of the Victorian folly.
"Grian has done an amazing job restoring Corfe Castle back to its former splendor. He not only recreated the old styles of the castle's grounds precisely and precisely, but he also incorporated his own ideas. We are eager to see more creative designs from young minds," said Martin Papworth, an archaeologist at the National Trust.
You can download Corfe's ruins yourself by checking out the Minecraft server corfe.ruinsreimagined.com. The ruin can also be downloaded as an package for Minecraft: Education Edition to be used in classrooms. You can find out more on Microsoft's website. (opens in a new tab)
