HDOS HDOS, also known as High-Detail Old School, is a free-to-use third party client for Old School RuneScape that emulates the aesthetic of 2009 RuneScape HD.
For a lot of RuneScape players the graphics from 2007 do not resonate with them as it was before the time they were fully involved in RuneScape. The HDOS client allows players who loved the style and feel of 2009-2011 RuneScape to experience that time while playing Old School RuneScape today.

Yes the HDOS client is third-party like OSBuddy and RuneLite are. You can download the HDOS client using the links on the top of the homepage. There are options for either the installer or Java version.
As of June 2022, the client has been reviewed and approved by Jagex - https://secure.runescape.com/m=news/third-party-clients-update?oldschool=1 This client has no risk whatsoever of resulting in a ban.
The development of this project involves tools that we've designed that were designed with the sole purpose of client performance and design enhancements. Users could potentially use some information and parts of the code if they are not developing an HD client. We believe that it is in the best interests of Jagex and the integrity of the game to keep the source code locked until Jagex approves.
Yes yes, and HDOS plugins are implemented naturally into the client. You can find all settings for plugins in the game's settings menu. The development of plugins and their priority are dependent on the demand of the community through polls and other feedback. To participate take part, join the HDOS Discord server to vote in our polls of the community.
