If the last 2 digits of a number can be divided by 4, then the number is divisible by 4. If the last 3 digits of a number can be divided by 8, then the number is divisible by 8. To determine if a number is divisible by 11, first get the alternating sum of the digits. Then, find the difference between the sums. If the difference is 0 or can be divided by 11, then we say that the number is divisible by 11. Lastly, if a number can be divided by both 3 and 4, then the number is divisible by 12.
A problem can be a routine and non-routine problem. If it is a routine problem, use the 4-step plan and if it is a non-routine problem, you can use any method to get the answer.
