Cairngorms recreated in video game Minecraft

To help young people learn how to manage an area of national park, the Cairngorms landscape has been recreated in Minecraft.
The virtual world, where players can create anything with blocks, covers all 1,700 sq miles (4,402 sq km) of the park, which comprises parts of Highland, Moray, Aberdeenshire and Perthshire.

The settlements were destroyed, and Cairngorms Youth Activity Team members are asked to create new communities.
It is designed to get them thinking about the way in which planning decisions are taken.
It's true that the team does not take it seriously.
Remote islands recreated in Minecraft
Campbell, a sixteen-year-old from Aviemore, has been building a hill fort at Cairn Gorm's summit. It is one of the UK's highest mountains.
He explained that , even though it doesn't transmit the temperature well, it does capture the surrounding landscape.
"We've seen corries and hiked up the Cairngorms. It's easy to recognize the Lairig Ghru.
"It's as real as can be. The various types of trees will tell you where you are and if there are trees.
Ellie Moore, a fellow player, said that "while we're trying to build things and farms, we're faced with an endless stream of monsters or enemies that are out at night."
"So it's been a challenge to travel out into the world as you're constantly trying to survival but I'd say where have been thus far has been pretty precise."
Dan Harris worked in his spare time to create the park.
He is the planning manager of Cairngorms Park Authority during the day.
He said: "They're basically dropped onto the map at the point that Aviemore should be and they've been asked to establish a community or neighbourhood that is compatible with the goals of the national park.
"So, things they have to start thinking about are how they protect and enhance the natural environment, and how they can make sustainable use of resources."
