Minecraft Amethyst Shards can be obtained through mining amethyst clusters that are found in geodes. These Shards can be used for fancy decorations or crafting materials to make Spyglasses and Tinted Glass. If you're looking to search for these purple crystal shards, you'll need to understand the particulars of where to locate Amethyst Geodes and how to maximize your shards gains. Here's what you need learn about mining and finding Amethyst Shards in Minecraft, and what you can use them for.

Where can I find Amethyst Geodes for Minecraft?

To locate an Amethyst Geode in Minecraft, it's best to go underground and start mining. But, you don't need to dig too deep. Amethyst geodes are available at Y-level 64 or Y-level 30. Because they are large and often cracked, geodes are easily identified. You might also see small glowing lights from the distance.

While mining Be aware of smooth basalt. This is the dark layer of an Amethyst Geode. Break through this first layer to find calcite, and then move on to the amethyst. There are Blocks of Amethyst and Budding Amethyst as well as Amethyst Buds and Amethyst Clusters. Let's go over which is which

How to get Amethyst Shards in Minecraft from Amethyst Clusters

Minecraft Netherite is extremely valuable, but it's a lot harder to locate Amesthyst Shards.

Amethyst Shards are released from the growing amethyst crystals called Amethyst Clusters. These clusters can be found in Amethyst Geodes. If you mine amethyst clusters, you'll receive Minecraft Amethyst shards in return, and they can be used to make certain items.

It is essential to only mine the fully grown ones, as the smaller Minecraft Amethyst Buds won't drop any Amethyst Shards. There are three stages of growth before an Amethyst Bud becomes an Amethyst Cluster. Look at the picture above to distinguish them!
Minecraft Servers

Fully formed Amethyst clusters drop two Minecraft Amethyst Shards when broken with any other tool and four when mined using a pickaxe. The amount of Amethyst Shards that drop can be increased by using the Fortune enchantment. If you wish to collect the cluster by itself you can use a pickaxe equipped with the Silk Touch enchantment.

Minecraft Amethyst Clusters and Buds are a result of Budding Amethyst blocks. You can recognize them by the cross-shape that is visible on their sides. Budding Amethyst is not possible to mine, but you are able to return to find new-spawned Amethyst Buds. The other amethyst solid block is referred to as the "Block of Amethyst" and can be mined with a pickaxe. The block is only used to decorate your home and cannot be used to grow Amethyst Buds. You can use Amethyst Shards to create more Minecraft Blocks of Amethyst if you intend to build with them as a material.

You can create anything using Minecraft Amethyst Shards

Apart from being a chic new building material, Amethyst Shards can be used to make the following products:

Spyglass Spyglass: Spyglass is one-half-inch thick Amethyst Shard layered on top of two Copper Ingots. Spyglasses are great for zooming in on distant objects. Tinted Glass: One block of glass with an Amethyst Shard above, below and on either side, will result in two blocks of Tinted Glass. Tinted Glass is a building material which blocks all light (but you can still see through it). It's not able to choke mobs, however it is able to be used again after it is broken.

Block of Amethyst as mentioned earlier it is only a decorative. You can create a Block of Amethyst using four Amethyst Shards.

It's time to find some Amethyst Shards so you can create your dream amethyst house!
