A proper Nintendo Wii gaming PC now is available, and the tiny stealth model can run Minecraft at 4K resolution. This customized build is able to handle competitive favourites such as Fortnite and Rocket League thanks to its AMD Ryzen 5 CPU and a couple of clever console shell modifications.
Created by AlexTriesTech, the Nintendo Wii gaming PC, or 'WiiC' is a rig disguised as a low-spec family console from 2006. The AMD Ryzen 5 5500U-powered machine can play Wii games using Dolphin, but it's also a full-fledged Windows 11 system and will run a large portion of your Steam library.
AlexTriesTech has modified the WiiC's motherboard so that it can fit inside the Nintendo Wii's small chassis. To make it fit the Nintendo WiiC, they have eliminated accessories like Gamecube controller ports or its original disc drive. The sale also comes with modifications that improve airflow, reduce the CPU's throttling and eventually increase fps.
Although the project took months of work and development, the final product looks as if it's a fully functional Nintendo Wii. It's even clad with RGB lighting, which helps replicate the blue glow of the original console's disc slot.
While the Wii stealth rig could appear to be a novelty, benchmarks show it's far more than just a joke.
