The British Museum in London - complete with all of its exhibits - is to be recreated in the video game Minecraft.

The project is part of the Museum of the Future scheme, which aims to expand the appeal of the museum.

Many real-life organisations have created maps in the Minecraft universe such as Ordnance Survey and the Danish government, which aims to make young people more aware of their work.

Last week, Minecraft was purchased by Microsoft for $2.5bn (PS1.5bn).

A spokesperson for the museum said that the project was in "an early planning phase" and that the "build" is not yet begun.

She explained that the company was looking to recruit people to help in the "construction".

He received enthusiastic feedback from Minecraft fans from all over the world.

Initial stages

The initial step will be to digitally design the Great Court and facade of the building.

The museum hopes that this stage will be in place prior to the public debate titled Changing public dialogues about museums in the digital age. Minecraft Games It will take place on 16 Oct.

Ed Barton, who researches gaming for the analytics firm Ovum Ed Barton, who is the head of Ovum's gaming research department, BBC the move of the British Museum to Minecraft would help it be "perceived as something enjoyable" and be an effective educational tool for the younger audience.

He explained, "It's the digital version of building the British Museum using Lego." "You need to build it brick by brick".

He added that the organization should be praised for crowdsourcing the project "as it transforms it into something collaborative" and will further inspire young Minecraft fans.

"What a cool project it could be to be asked to create the Elgin Marbles in Minecraft," he said.
