Valheim Valheim Valheim, it's all we've heard recently. It's a crime that we are guilty of, but other sites and content creators have covered it extensively and it's reached new heights once more.
Just one month after entering Early Access, Iron Gate AB and Coffee Stain Publishing have announced they've managed to sell 4 million copies. Not only that, Valheim managed to hit more than 500,000 players online on February 21st, which means that more people were in game than there were actual Vikings in human history. It also means that Valheim is now among the top 5 most played games on Steam.
Other interesting details include the game being played for "a combined total of 10,000 years" and it continues to climb the Steam Top 250 leaderboard for the best reviewed games of all time and they've had more than 92,000 reviews on Steam.
This is pure insane. Incredible, but also completely deserved. It's incredible to have an game that is so well-liked on Linux and with full support. Iron Gate CEO Richard Svensson has stated in the official Discord that they are a "pretty committed linux supporter"
Valheim was updated just recently. Here's what's new in the Valheim update.
- Crafting item-dupe bug fix - Harpooned player & ship bug fix - Fixed player ragdoll - Bonemass,Moder,Yagluth difficulty tweaks - Moder music updated - Tombstone bugfix (probably wont fix disappearing tombstones though) - Fixed world corruption caused by pressing ALT+F4 while logging out. - Deathsquitos now have a slightly larger audio range. The audio has been tweaked on the blast furnace and spinning wheel. - Shared map location setting is saved per world. Updated network statistics. (F2) The building destruction drop-fix. - Vulkan support for windows builds (Linux by default is Vulkan). - Network disconnect bug fix. FREE 51 Updated socket backend
