When you sign up for the Minecraft: Education Edition trial, or purchase a Minecraft: Education Edition subscription, Minecraft: Education Edition will be added to the inventory in your Microsoft Admin Center which is linked to your Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) tenant. Your Microsoft Admin Center is only visible to employees of your company with administrative roles.
If you don't have an Azure AD tenant or Office 365 tenant you can request Minecraft: Education Edition to set up a free Office 365 Education subscription. For more details, check out Office 365 Education plans and pricing.
Configurations for Microsoft 365 A3 and Microsoft A5 customers of 365
Schools who have purchased these items have the option to make Minecraft Education Edition available to their students.
- Microsoft 365 A3 and Microsoft 365 A5 - Minecraft: Education Edition
Administrators can turn on Minecraft Education Edition for students using Microsoft 365 A3 and Microsoft 365 A5 in the event that these products are available in your school's tenant. Select Users from the left-hand menu of Microsoft Admin Center. From the Users list, choose the users you wish to add or remove for Minecraft: Education Edition access. Add the appropriate A3 or A5 licenses in the event that it hasn't been assigned previously.
Notification
If you add a faculty license, the user will be assigned the role of instructor in the application and will have elevated permissions.
After selecting the appropriate product license Make sure that Minecraft: Education Edition is switched off or on depending on whether you wish to add or remove Minecraft: Education Edition from the user (it will be turned on by default).
After students have used Minecraft Education Edition for at least 30 days you can disable this setting so they have access for up to 30 more days.
How to obtain Minecraft Education Edition
Microsoft verified academic institution accounts will be granted limited access to Minecraft Education Edition. Faculty accounts get 25 logins for free and student accounts 10 logins free of cost. To purchase direct licenses, go to Minecraft: Education Edition - direct purchase.
If you have been approved and are part of the Enrollment for Education Solutions volume licensing program, you can purchase a volume license for Minecraft Education Edition. For more information, go to Minecraft Education Edition volume license.
Minecraft Education Edition Direct purchase
Go to https://education.minecraft.net/ and select How to Buy in the top navigation bar.
Scroll down to the bottom and select Buy Now under Direct Purchase.
This will direct you to the purchase page in the Microsoft Admin center. Log into your Administrator account.
If necessary, fill in any requested payment or organization information.
Select the number of licenses you wish to purchase, then select Place Order.
After you have purchased licenses You'll have to assign them users to the Admin Center.
You can purchase or delete subscription licenses if you require additional Minecraft: Education Edition licenses.
Minecraft: Education Edition - volume licensing
Schools that are accredited can purchase Minecraft: Education Edition licenses through their Microsoft channel partner. Schools must be part of the Enrollment for Education Solutions (EES) volume licensing program. To determine which Minecraft Education Edition licensing program is most suitable for their school Educational institutions should consult their channel partner. This is how it works:
The channel partner will submit your volume license purchase. Your licenses will appear on Volume Licensing Service Center and will be available on your Microsoft Store for Education. A confirmation email will be sent to you with a the link to Microsoft Store for Education. To distribute and manage Minecraft: Education Edition licenses you must sign in to Microsoft Store for Education. Check out Distribute Minecraft for more information about distribution options
Minecraft: Education Edition payment options
You can pay for Minecraft Education Edition with a debit or creditcard or an invoice.

During the purchase, click Add a new payment method. Enter the information required for your credit or debit card.

Invoices
Invoices are now a valid payment method for Minecraft Education Edition. There are a few prerequisites:
Administrators only (not supported by Teachers) - $500 minimum invoice for your initial purchase - $15,000 maximum invoice (for all invoices within the organization)
To pay an invoice
During the purchase, click Add a new payment method.
Choose the Invoice option and enter the information needed to create an invoice. You can also add a tracking number, or other information relevant to your business to the PO number item.
