Quantity of heat produced depends on the resistance of the material to the flow of the currents and the length of exposure.

While the effects on biological systems of RF EMF are not conclusive, studies have shown the possibility of a link between exposure to EMF from RF in conjunction with EHS symptoms. This connection requires further research to discover the extent to which EMF exposure causes EHS. It has been proven that leukemia in children is linked with proximity to electric lines.

The evidence that suggests how exposure to RF EMF could cause EHS isn't extensive. However, there are many other studies that prove this connection between RF EMF and oxidative stress. While it is still unclear how long EMF exposure could cause cell damage, it's important to know what's happening in the body to avoid this type of problem. It could even affect the function of organs.

If the RF energy flows through a compound that is polar, the atomic nuclei and electrons inside the nuclei are displace from their equilibrium position. In the process, the electrons surrounding the nuclei are dipoles that are induced. The dipole realignment happens trillions of times a second. In this process there is friction between the rotating molecules, and heat is created throughout the entire volume of the material.

While RF radiation isn't thought to directly damage DNA, it may create heat in tissues of the body that could cause burns or tissue damage. Contrary to ionizing radiation RF radiation is not believed to cause cancer. However, some studies show increased tumor rates in laboratory animals exposed to RF radiation.


There are many federal agencies responsible for controlling and monitoring the impacts from RF radiation on human bodies. They include the Environmental Protection Agency, the Food and Drug Administration, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. emf sheilding to ensure it's safe for employees.
