Fred
-Was stationed in Germany for between 4-5 years altogether, got married while he was home on a 60-day leave

Why move from Tennessee
-Gma did not want to leave the family and he said he needed to look for work in the Knoxville area and couldn't find a job and some friends who lived down there were in Ohio and working here and they encouraged him to come up here and get a job
-At the time he said we would come up here and work for a while and then move back to Tennessee, but it never happened
-Fred worked for a carpenter for a while in Harrison OH and came to Sharonville and worked at Autolite
-"In many ways I regret we never went back to Tennessee. of course we went home about once a month for the weekend, but it was different than actually being there to go through their weddings and graduations and their sickness and whatever come up."
-Gma didn't move back after Fred died because she promised she wouldn't leave her kids

Why move to Kansas
-Went in September and came back in the late part of February 1954 because Fred was stationed there when he was back in the US

When did you move from Tenessee
-Moved in 1955, March, Fred was discharged from the army in January of that year and stayed a few weeks in Tennessee

Why 3 kids?
-Wanted another one after 3rd, but because of her health problems in relation to pregnancies and births her doctor refused and said she needed a hysterectomy

Work?
-Stayed at home to take care of children; worked at the cafeteria at the local school for 3 years then went to the donut shop for 5 years when she got pregnant with my mom and worked until 7 months; would work early at the Donut Shop but went back to stay-at-home right before she started school; was the trailer court manager for a few years and then gave that up; went to work as secretary for security company; when Fred got sick she quit work to take care of him

College?
-She graduated 8th grade (was in accelerated courses and skipped grades, was 11 years old in 8th grade)
-Didn't go on to high school to stay and work on the farm and because she was the youngest in all of her years and felt intimidated and out of place (now regrets)
