The point here is, when it comes to issues of race, some of the powers that be, (in the US, the Northern elite), will go "alright, we support you". When it comes to issues of economic freedom without which racism can not be defeated, the powers that be (both North and South) fight you.
An idle hand is the devil's workshop'. Amongst black high school graduates, underemployment and unemployment in the Black community is at 50%. There is no separating these issues. BLM should be working for Bernie who is willing to take on the entrenched elites. Those who refuse the people a higher minimum wage, those who take jobs to China, those who fight for tax breaks when they have more money than they would ever find use for, those who seek to weaken the power of sovereign states in their quest to get richer (as in the TPP).
MLK understood this. The greatest fight of our times is the fight against inequality. Anywhere you go, the very richest are rising, anywhere on this continent. And the rest of us either remain stagnant or things are getting worse. Bernie is the great champion of this fight today. If this fight is lost, black lives will never matter.
