WoW and FFXIV The WoW and FFXIV Games: Boosted Raptr Playtime And ArcheAge Playtime "cratered"

Another Raptr report for another month. Yesterday Raptr.com posted its most played PC games list for November, and MMOs performed quite well. The Warlords of Draenor expansion has seen World of Warcraft rise to #2 on the list. Raptr's press release says that "The MMO’s monthly play time increased 71% compared to October." Even though WoW "likely" was influenced by League of Legends' numbers, it couldn't quite usurp the MOBA's #1 seat.



ArcheAge playtime decreased by 39.97 percent, while World of Tanks (and Final Fantasy XIV) had an increase in their playtime. Guild Wars 2 rose in rank, Raptr says, but lost playtime in November against. October. SWTOR has dropped two places since October.



Raptr roundups are subject to the condition that they only represent Raptr users who play on PC. Certain MMO studios also increase Raptr numbers by offering incentives in game. They may not provide data on their population, so you might consider this the most reliable indicator of the game's popularity, aside from a tour of the servers.

Dragon Age: Inquisition and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare made it onto the Most Played list this month. World of Warcraft's newest expansion has given the MMO an upswing after a ten-year absence. Spider Solitaire also made an unexpected return to the top 20 after an extended absence. The guilty parties know who they are.



Highlights



League of Legends remained in first place in November, despite losing 15.88 percent of its playtime compared to October. The game's peak was at the beginning of the month after the Halloween sales event. Although the game's gameplay was stable throughout the month there were some delays due to the 4.20 update.



World of Warcraft's Warlords of Draenor likely took time away from LoL and other major games. Monthly play time for the MMO was up 71.3% over October. let it sing As is expected, daily play time was affected by the expansion and the game's ten year anniversary celebrations. It nearly doubled following the launch of Draenor, and was able to keep it up until November.



The other top five games weren't as lucky. DOTA 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and Smite which topped ArcheAge for fifth place, all saw an increase in net revenue over the course of hours. While DOTA 2 and CS:GO both suffered double-digit drops (12.49% and 11.59% respectively), Smite was down less than one percent.



Archeage, meanwhile, cratered by 39.97%; hence Smite's modest climb up the ranks.



The downward trend continued with Minecraft (-11.70%), Diablo III (down nearly 45 percent -We blame WoW) and Hearthstone (-13.11%, though we anticipate a rebound in December due to Goblins against Gnomes).



Chart newcomer Dragon Age, Inquisition, was ranked tenth despite a release in November.



While sliding down the ranks, World of Tanks managed to gain 7.72% play time in comparison to October. Though the WGLNA Gold League Qualifying rounds happened throughout the month, the game was at its highest during Thanksgiving weekend, due to XP multipliers and the holiday discounts on premium items.



Final Fantasy XIV saw a 20.97 percent increase in the amount of time played. This could be due to the release of the Game of the Year edition, which offered 60 additional days of adventure (plus all previously released content) in the late months of October and early November. The game's playtime wasn't affected by mid-month DDOS attacks that caused login issues.



Warframe and Guild Wars 2 each rose in popularity, despite losing play time in November compared to October. Warframe hosted an Movember community event that led to the setting of a Guinness World Record. Guild Wars 2's Tangled Path content released with new areas and skins, items, and much more.



Call of Duty: Advance Warfare is always more of an Xbox juggernaut launched in early November and based on the current trends, we may not see it in December's Most Played.



Spider Solitaire was re-invented into Most Played for the first time since October 2013. It turns out that Thanksgiving isn't just about turkey, football and arguing with family - it's also about Solitaire. The 27th of November was the peak day for Solitaire gameplay.



Note: The Share number by each game is the gameplay time in percentage of the total time spent playing all PC games played by Raptr members, and is useful for comparing the relative amount of play time between particular games.
