Minecraft players will be able to change their in-game name soon as the developer studio Mojang has announced. The process will go live on February 4th, and is quite simple. Once the name-changing system is put in place, players will be able to change their in-game names by simply login to their account. Any name that is not being used by another player will be accessible however, players will need to wait for 30 days before they can change again.
You don't have to worry about someone taking your name. It takes about 37 days for a name that was previously used to become available to someone. Minecraft Servers If you were to change your name to "MinecraftMasta" then we wouldn't have the ability to take MinecraftMasta before you had a chance of reclaiming it. The change of names doesn't affect the status of your character's inventory or status If you've been blocked by someone and you change your name, it will not allow you to bypass the blockage.
Mojang also announced that Minecraft: Pocket Edition has sold more than 30,000,000 copies to date. Pocket Edition sold 21 million copies in April and was extended to Windows Phone users in December. Mojang did not reveal the amount of new sales, but Mojang did say that Pocket Edition had sold 9 million more copies due to its launch on a new platform. [Image: Mojang]
