A true Nintendo Wii gaming PC now is available, and the tiny stealth rig can run Minecraft at 4K resolution. This custom build can handle popular games that compete, such as Fortnite and Rocket League thanks to its AMD Ryzen 5 CPU and a few clever console shell changes.
Created by AlexTriesTech, the Nintendo Wii gaming PC, or 'WiiC' is a system disguised as a basic family console that was released in 2006. While the AMD Ryzen 5 5500U powered machine can play Wii games using Dolphin, it's also a fully-fledged Windows 11 system that'll run an entire portion of your Steam library.
The internals of the WiiC were originally part of a mini Ryzen APU PC, but AlexTriesTech has reduced the size of the motherboard to make it fit inside the Nintendo Wii's compact chassis. Mpservers To make it fit the Nintendo WiiC, it eliminates extras such as Gamecube controller ports as well as its disc drive from its original. The sale also comes with modifications to improve airflow, reduce the throttle on CPUs, and ultimately increase the speed of the game.
Although the project took months of work, the final product looks as if it's the fully functional Nintendo Wii. It's even clad with RGB lighting, something that helps replicate the blue glow of the original console's disc slot.
While the Wii stealth rig could appear to be an oddity, tests show it's far more than a joke build. The micro device can produce over 100fps on Fornite and can play Rainbow Six: Siege at 1080p and 60fps, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider is just about playable on a small PC. As mentioned above, it can manage Minecraft at 4K, so you could pair it with the top gaming monitor to play the classic block game in the highest resolution.
We had already decided that the Queen's Golden Wii should become the most popular gaming device however, we are satisfied with AlexTriesTech's invention. It's akin to the old game console you used to play tennis and bowling with your Nan. This is exactly what makes it different.
