Content of the article OTTAWA Elections Canada's hunt for the mysterious Pierre Poutine has led investigators to a dead end.
Allan Mathews, article content investigator, sought out computer records from a Saskatchewan-based site that allows anonymous surfing on the Internet.
Elections Canada fails to find "Pierre Poutine" clues in Saskatchewan.
The agency believed the company, Free Proxy Server, might have information that could help them identify the person behind misleading and harassing calls made during the election campaign.
Article content A court document that was recently released by the company shows that it told Elections Canada last Month that Internet records that could help identify Poutine were no longer available.

A court order seeking company records stated that "No documents or records were seized from Marc Norris"
"Records no longer exist."
Poutine partnered with Edmonton's RackNine Inc. to make thousands of robocalls to direct voters in Guelph (Ont.) to the wrong polling stations.
Content of the article RackNine turned over computer records that show that a person known as Pierre Jones paid for the calls using an account with PayPal account.
From there, Mathews was able to track Poutine or Jones' Internet Protocol, or IP address and connect it to the Free Proxy Server. The site acts as a proxy or intermediary to conceal an individual's IP address.
This led Mathews to Conquest, Sask., where Norris runs the website out of his home.
Mathews obtained an order from the court for Free Proxy Server's computer records however, it turned out to be an impossible task. Norris did not have records that might identify Poutine.
According to Norris the norm is to follow the practice for old records to be destroyed after a certain period of time.
"It could be as if you, say every day you fill up a notebook with the story you're writing about, and you keep piling up your notebooks," he said.
Content of the article "And eventually, you'll be able to fill your office, and you'll fill up the buildings, and you realize it's not a good idea (to keep them).

He claimed he had followed the production order and had a phone conversation with Elections Canada last month.
"I fulfilled the production order," Norris said. "After that I haven't heard anything."
The trail isn't totally frozen. Elections Canada believes the Poutine persona was the same IP used by Marty Burke's worker at the Guelph Conservative campaign office.
Court documents released last week reveal Burke campaign worker Andrew Prescott's RackNine account was accessed through Rogers IP address 99.225.28.34 in Guelph. At the same time, someone using the same IP address also logged into Poutine's RackNine account.
Article content. The court documents don't mention that Prescott registered on RackNine as Jones or Poutine. Mathews claims that he was supposed to talk to Prescott on March 8, but Prescott's lawyer canceled the interview the day prior to.
Prescott has so far refused to his comment. He referred The Canadian Press (which has not returned a phone message) to his lawyer.
Mathews was accompanied by a Tory lawyer. Two Tory campaign staffers told Mathews that they had overheard an Burke staffer, Michael Sona, talking about American politics and harassing supporters of the party.
Sona quit his job as Conservative MP Eve Adams' secretary after his name was circulated in relation to the phone calls.
There is no evidence that suggests Sona was involved, and he claims that he did not have any involvement in voter suppression while working on the local campaign.
