Minecraft - Introduction To Farming

Farming constitutes a valuable method of acquiring supplies for your Minecraft adventures. Before you think it's just "go and expand" as you see on popular game apps, there are a few things you need to think about.



Plant Farming



First, you will need to construct the hoe (in survival mode) or locate one in the tools tab. Then, you will need to find an area where you can start your farm. Right-click to begin. Minecraft server list If the dirt looks like farmland, you can take seeds you've found. The buds will turn tiny. To allow your plants to grow naturally, surround the field with a water channel; an average time to grow fully on water alone is between 5 and 10 minutes. You are free to continue gameplay in the meanwhile and return to see your plants when you are ready. You can give your plants an extra boost by applying bonemeal (from bones that were discarded from skeletons). Right-click the plant to apply the bonemeal, and you're done! Based on the size of the plant (e.g. grass vs. tree), it takes 1-5 clicks to grow instantly.



Once the plant is growing, it is now ready for harvest. The plant must be destroyed to create the fruit drop. Some plants that can be grown are sugarcane pumpkins, wheat and carrots. Certain plants come with fun features, for instance, you can create a jack-o'lantern out of a pumpkin and wear it on your head!



Mob Farming



Mob farming is more difficult than plant farming. The purpose of mob farming isn't to grow plants but rather to "grow" groups of enemies that upon "birth" will automatically die and leave you with items they will drop. Although it sounds awful, the characters that are "grown" or "spawned" simply fall over and disappear. This leaves behind valuable items like ender pearls (which you can use to locate the end portals), bonemeal (to train dogs) and string (to make bows and arrows).



First, you must find a good design. This will not be discussed here. One strategy that has been proven to work is water + cliff. One of the most important aspects of mob farming is a dark environment, as any dark area in Minecraft generates enemies such as zombies and endermen. So keep that in mind as you begin to discover the complexities of mob farming. You'll need to choose an area where you can enjoy complete darkness.
