Hey, there's some positive news about NFTs for once! Mojang has released a brand new guide to the rules surrounding NFTs and Blockchain.
There are many scams in the world of NFTs, especially when it comes companies using "blockchain" when they don't need it. Thankfully, Mojang have listened and issued some rules, and the basic idea is that "integrations of NFTs in Minecraft are not something we would accept or support" they said.
Their latest news article provides an overview of what NFTs actually are and giving a brief overview of the reason they have rules for server owners as well as creators of content. The goal in essence is to "ensure that Minecraft remains a community where everyone has access to the same content". One of the issues is the way in which NFTs "create models of exclusion and scarcity which conflict with our Guidelines and the spirit of Minecraft".
Mojang make their position firmly clarified on this issue, declaring that "As such to ensure that Minecraft players have a safe and enjoyable experience, blockchain technology is not permitted to be integrated inside our Minecraft client and server applications nor may they be used to create NFTs that are associated with any in-game content, including worlds, skins, items for personas, or other mods. ".
This is a good thing, as it should hopefully prevent another Blockverse, which was supposed to be an "on-chain Ethereum NFT that would allow a unique P2E on Minecraft". Can you imagine what happened? They took a large sum of money, and then disappeared with the money.

However they're not ruling out the possibility of using blockchain within Minecraft if it might "allow for more secure experiences or other applications that are practical and inclusive in gaming" however, they have no plans to implement it right now.
