بررسی های اخیرا انجام شده بر للوکساید۵ و ترکیبات کلدینیوم بر روی کودکان، هیچ محدودیتی را در رابطه با استفاده از آن برای کودکان نشان نداده است. این دارو به کلی در درمان زخم های گوارشی و سندروم روده تحریک پذیربکار میرود.این داروهمچنین به عنوان داروی کمکی در کاهش ترشحات اسید معده و درمان آنتروکلیت حاد مورد استفاه قرار میگیرد. مانند سایر بنزودیازپینها به عنوان آگونیستهای گیرنده بنزودیازپین بر روی غشای سلولهای عصبی اثر کرده وباعث تسهیل ورود یا افزایش عمل GABA شده و ورود یون کلر را به سلولها افزایش می‌دهد. در صورت مصرف شربت های ضد اسید معده ، مصرف این پوکساکیم را حداقل ۲ساعت با مصرف شربت فاصله دهید. در صورت مشکل در نفس کشیدن (بطور مثال تنگی نفس و احساس خفگی در خواب ) به پزشک خود اطلاع دهید.
