Running Your Very First Webinar
When I asked a webinar audience why they hadn't started using webinars yet, they were some of their most popular responses:

"I have no idea of what technology to use"

"Frightened of being unable to manage the technology"

"Not confident about questions from the audience"

"Haven't got to it yet, I need to build sufficient followers"

"Was very concerned with making a mess of computer along with a fool of myself"

Most of the responses were about doubts, concerns and even fear about using webinar technology. Even experienced workshop and seminar presenters experience this concern, because they find the webinar environment unfamiliar and daunting.
For a lot of people planning their first webinar, the problem is not too things fail, however they worry things might get it wrong. That either holds it from getting started or makes them nervous when they do start.
As Mark Twain really should have said: "I've had many troubles in my life, a few of which haven't ever happened."
The option is simple: Simplify.
Think in regards to the difference between climbing a mountain and having a casual hike in a very national park.
An experienced climber can tackle essentially the most challenging mountains on earth with certainty and safety, because she has the correct equipment, the best training, a lot of preparation, a qualified support team, and so forth. If you was without all the, climbing a mountain can be foolhardy.
On the opposite hand, even without a lot of training, equipment, support and experience, you can have a casual hike on well-signposted trails in a popular national park.
I recommend you treat your initial webinar being a casual hike instead of a challenging climb. Rather than attempting to policy for anything that might go wrong, design a webinar so it can't go wrong.
That might appear obvious, nevertheless, you could possibly be surprised how many people over-complicate their first few webinars, and increase the pressure and stress like a result.
Here is something I recommend you don't do with your first webinar:

Don't charge money for it.

Don't invite as many people as is possible, even if you could reach them.

Don't switch on audience microphones throughout the webinar, because that enhances the chances of an audience member taking you off course.

Don't use multiple windows - as an example, switching between PowerPoint, your Web browser, Excel, Word and PDF.

Low Latency Live Stream have multiple presenters, given it adds extra steps when switching screens, turning microphones off, and the like.

All of these things add extra potential problems. Instead, do the following:

Make a webinar free.

Make it private: Invite only selected, trusted people - like colleagues, friends or your best clients.

Take questions on paper only, either submitted advance by e-mail or shipped to you during the webinar.

Use PowerPoint only (or Keynote with a Mac), and close all the windows.

Be the one presenter.

This is usually not how we are likely to run every webinar in the foreseeable future, but it's the best way to get going.
