How did Roundup Ready or Roundup get their names?
First, what is Roundup Ready? Roundup Ready is the trademark name for a line of genetically modified crops that are intolerant to Roundup. These crops are called Roundup Ready.

Who invented Roundup?
Glyphosate, which is the active ingredient in Roundup, was first discovered as an herbicide in 1970 by Monsanto chemical scientist, John Franz. Pre-emergent herbicides were widely used in the ag industry at the time. They were applied before the crop or weeds appeared. The unique post-emergent effectiveness of glyphosate in controlling huge amounts of broadleaf grass weeds was astonishing. This, coupled with its exceptional environmental (soil degradation, rapid degradation, etc.) as well as toxicological characteristics (extremely toxic for mammals (and beneficial organisms), resulted in a product that was outstanding.

When was the Roundup first created?
Roundup (r) was introduced onto the market in 1974. It's an herbicide for all kinds of plants which quickly became a world leader. It was initially used in ditches, along railroad tracks and also on fields between growing seasons. This helped farmers manage the broadleaf and grass weeds from the soil. http://p1spb.ru/user/roundup55cvkd606/ decreased the need to till and helped preserve the soil's structure.

The Roundup Ready GMOs case was the next.
Monsanto scientists, inspired by the amazing advances in recombinant technology in the 1970s recognized the many benefits for farmers if Roundup could be directly applied to crops in order to reduce the weeds. A small team of researchers (Rob Horsch, Steve Rogers and myself) led by Dr Ernie Jaworski, began working on this challenge. In the early 1980s this team had developed the first systems to introduce genes in plants. Our focus was now on the creation of viruses-resistant crops, which are resistant to insect pests and are Roundup-tolerant.

ラウンドアップ was known that Roundup may block the biochemical pathways that plants employ to make aromatic amino acids. Roundup's high level security for humans and mammals is due to the fact that glyphosate can be broken down quickly by soil microorganisms. Our scientists had identified genetics in microbial and plant genes that give increased resistance to herbicides. https://rosalind.info/users/roundup55qxon979 was approved for field trials by the USDA in 1987. http://www.bsaa.edu.ru/bitrix/rk.php?goto=https://www.dcm-ekurashi.com/ was the first test in the field of Roundup Ready tomato plants. In the following years the bacterial gene that would become the Roundup Ready trait was identified, isolated, and introduced into plants.

Let's take a look at soybeans as an example, by addressing the questions: what are Roundup Ready soybeans and how are Roundup Ready soybeans constructed? Roundup Ready soybeans are genetically engineered so they are resistant to the herbicide Roundup. These soybeans are intolerant to glyphosate as each soybean seed has the Roundup Ready gene injected into it prior to it being planted. That means farmers are able to apply the herbicide to eliminate weeds without harming their crops.

Roundup Ready crops, which were first introduced in 1996 have revolutionized agriculture research and agriculture. Farmers quickly recognized the benefits of Roundup resistance and adoption was quick (today over 90% of U.S. soybean, corn, cotton and canola acres utilize biotech-based traits that allow herbicide resistance). Roundup Ready crops helped to reduce and enhance weed management systems. They also helped to achieve greater yields from crops. ラウンドアップ increasing use of conservation tillage has an environmental benefit that is significant. Through cutting down on plowing, farmers cut down on the amount of energy used and also GHG emissions while maintaining soil structure and reducing erosion. This was equivalent to removing 28.4 billion tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere in 2013, or 12.4 million cars off the roads for the year (Source: , PG Economics).
