I went for a walk to the beach. It was nothing to write home about. This was a typical northern Balinese black volcanic-sand beach. The few hawkers were again restrained. I was able to see fishing boats at sea and the setting sun behind them. A young man was sitting cross-legged, making his prayer offering.
Waves can reach up to 8 feet at this spot. Surfers are able to enjoy solid swell in the south-side area of the reef thanks to easterly breezes. Surfers used to find it difficult to get to this spot because there were no major roads. However, the highways have improved and the area is now a popular spot, especially in April and October.
