Fico Gutierrez: There is a risk of him being "Uribe's candidate."
Since the night of Sunday, Federico Fico Gutierrez was the most consistent presidential contender for Colombia. It is not his first time appearing in an electoral roll. He was previously a mayor and councilor in Medellin. His first attempt in a national elections which saw him receive more than 2 million votes from the Team for Colombia coalition, made him a preferred candidate by conservative groups. Fico (47 year old Medellin) is, at this time, Gustavo Petro's main opposition. This gives Fico some momentum in a particular sector of conservatism. However, it also prevents him from potential votes from the centre.
