The Sacred Heart Church in Manhattan and the Bronx
The Sacred Heart Church is a historic building located in Manhattan and the Bronx. It was founded in 1876 on the site of the Plymouth Baptist Church, which had been destroyed by fire. It was converted to become the Sacred Heart Parish. Browne and Henry Brown wrote a poem about this place in One Stop Above Hell's Kitchen, which was inspired by the Sacred Heart Church.
