The origin of the officetel tree has been a mystery to North American and Asian gardeners for over three centuries. This shrub is native to Japan, Korea and China. Its distribution is restricted to Korea and the isolated regions of Asia. In its native regions, the officetel grows sparsely, resulting in small, poor-quality specimens that are either pale yellowed or discolored. However, the United States has seen significant cultivation over the last century. This is especially true in the south. Because of these recent efforts to cultivate the tree in the United States, we now have a well-established record of how it was first domesticated.
Although a lot of research has been done about the history of the original officetel founder, very little has been done to explore the possible origins of this portmanteau. Seo-tong is the Korean term for officetel. But in the United States, the term neo-tong is used to refer to the umbrella tree commonly known as the American officetel or the California poppies, or the red poppies, also sometimes called the California poppy. Named after an American ornal painter, the name is derived from the fact that he used the poppies to decorate his back room. Poppies were originally brought to this country from China in the later nineteenth century by an art enthusiast, Edwin Cezanne. His painting "The Return of the Mandarin" (1907) is the basis for the widely-recognized picture of the Chinese student hummingbirds.

It should be obvious that "Portmanteau" was not derived from hummingbirds but instead came from another lesser-known Asian herb. Ironically, the same plant, the scented oriental oriel, which is often incorrectly called "ginseng," provides the primary source of the popular Korean tea, keoladeo, so often seen in Korean residential architecture today. Although the names of the herbs are not identical, some people draw parallels between these two Asian plants and the Korean housing types.

The kitchen, like most Korean houses styles is the heart of the house. In the traditional model, the kitchen is separated from the dining room - an office space typically devoted to preparing food for family meals - and the main room, or bungalow, by an adjacent stairway. This was done to avoid the rooms competing for limited kitchen space which was often scarce in colonial times. The kitchen/dining room border has been virtually erased in modern apartments, creating an expansive living space in addition to traditional areas.

Homemakers who are not skilled in homemaking may find it difficult to design a home that is functional and attractive. They may also need help from a housing architect. The officetel-style architecture found in Korean apartments allows for a wide range of design options that could be integrated into a typical kitchen. Most Korean condos, for example, feature a tiered "chard" of kitchen furniture arranged in concentric circles, which gives the kitchen a somewhat botanical feel. Some of the most common homemaking tools include the following:

Traditional homemakers' favorite is the so-called "cast-iron incendium," which consists of a stove (sometimes accompanied by a small fridge), a cutting board and a number of wooden spoons. In addition to the kitchen appliances, the cast-iron incendium can also serve as an art display or even a place to hang art pieces. The stove and the accompanying benches used to be located on the 2nd level of a bungalow. Today, these fixtures are rare to find, with the exception of some models manufactured in modernist architecture by high-end manufacturers. On the whole, modernists have succeeded in eliminating or at least minimizing the traditionalist element of the Korean residence.

The officetel, as it was originally introduced in Korea, can be considered as a form of the basic amenities that comprise the first line of support for any Korean residence: the portmanteau. While Korean hotels and ports don't have the same regal splendor as medieval times, some still adhere to the standards of their predecessors. The bathroom and toilet are two examples of interior spaces that have been emphasized. They both feature large, porcelain-topped doors and beautiful etched and stained glass bottoms. However, these are not the only areas where you will discover these great works of art: there is a great emphasis on the exteriors of the bungalow, which are usually decorated in the same lavish style.

As you can see, the original use of the officetel by Koreans was not only a sign of refinement, but also a way to showcase the superiority of their culture. Just like the bouquet of flowers or the mirror that a Korean lady will wear to present herself before her guests, the Korean officetel is an important part of Korean culture. You may want to add it to your home to make it more representative of the traditions of Korea. To learn 아산op and the tradition of the officetel, visit the website below.
