Start Smokking

Starting is usually a social thing. We do it because everyone around us does it. The first time was terrible to me as well.

I started as a teenager because my best friend said everyone would think I was uncool if I didn't. Why did I listen???? The cigarettes tasted horrible but by 14, I was hooked...

I started as a freshman in high school because it was the "cool" thing to do. The guy I was into smoked and I wanted his attention it worked but definitely wasn't worth my short lived high school romance

Smoking was the norm among the males of my family and their friends when I was growing up. My dad smoked, his younger brother smoked, most of their friends smoked. It was almost natural that I began to smoke too, thinking that smoking made me cool. The first drag did taste awful but I kept at it because I thought it would make me a movie star or something. When I quit, it was because I could recall that awful taste and didn't want to ever taste it again.
I never vaped, never did weed.

I’ve smoked all 3. I had my first cigarette at age 13. Immediately wanted more. I remember loving the feeling. It was weird that it was so instant. I’ve been battling it ever since. I’ve smoked pot 2 times - I hate the feeling. I bought the vape when I quit smoking. I can take it or leave it. I chose to leave it because I don’t want to get used to using something that I will just have to quit someday.

I started smoking when I lost my job and couldn’t find motivation to do anything else. I vape now because smoking became an activity but I’m working to replace the addiction with new routines, habits, and mindsets.

To have something in common with my x-husband. He smoked why can't I??? stupid...stupid.....stupid!!!

I was 14 years old. A boy introduced me to smoking. I did just out of peer pressure, then he quit and laughed at me for smoking. Get it now?

I started at 13, too young to know any better. I then had a parent continuously buy them for me moving forward. I have tried replacing with a vape and tried Chantix once - both lasted about a week. This time I used the Quit Share app and am in the middle of my 6th day. I believe cold turkey is the best for me, my only snag has been interrupted sleep.
