It's tough times. The gig economy makes it even more difficult for me to navigate in this new situation. I used to do very well before pandemic hit, and now besides my main job as dental assistant, I have to accept the night-time security job at a local machine production plant close to my home. The machine is mostly automated. The workers are on call during the day and I'm a member of the night-time crew. I have an emergency line I can contact in case of any problems or in the event that machinery ceases working. I call engineers, and/or call the outside line for more engineers. I do nothing. In reality, they aren't producing anything of value in this case. Night guard is really simply an attendant on the switchboard.
It's peaceful and quiet and I find it enjoyable. It's quiet, I'm an extremely spooky sleeper. I wake myself up from too much gas release in the night, but here I thrive in the quietness, machines create an unforgettable white noise atmosphere, maybe that's what i need to test at home, a proper ambient.. That's why I sleep every night here - half asleep in anticipation of it to end, so I can go home earlier. The nights are boring and I am constantly trying different things to make time go by faster. For instance, I've been practising this dance that I observed on Tik Tok for the last 2 weeks. It's not too difficult, however I find it difficult to recreate it. The dance was invented by one of the famous Tik Tok sisters. I'm not sure how to explain this stuff since I'm old.
I've been trying various videos on fixing cars recently. I don't have the ability to implement them right away on my car , but I enjoy seeing other people make their cars stop-stopping. savethevideo com Same goes for any DIY videos, they are often quite informational and simple to follow. This was when I realized there was another problem. My internet stopped working soon enough to allow me to be in a position to access any video or browse the internet in any other manner. I was capable of downloading Youtube videos and place them on my phone. I could watch the DIY videos even when the internet went down. It doesn't matter if you stream it from a particular site or another online. Or if you download it in your home and then view it on your smartphone in the absence of internet access or any other type of online. It's exactly the same as DVR for streaming online videos.
To my pure joy I've figured out how I can download the latest episodes and even movies directly onto my laptop. I started bringing my laptop to work because it has much bigger screen and better speakers, so it's much nicer to watch TV shows there. I just signed up for HULU, and now I have Netflix and Hulu, both of them allow you to download their apps and instead of watching a movie, you can mark the movie for download, then put it aside for a couple of hours, based on the length of the show and the quality choices you choose the show will be transferred to your device and will be available to watch any time with or without internet access. I'm now able to stream the TV while I commute to work. It's only 15 minutes long, however it lets me catch up on some of the episodes I slept through last night.
There are a lot of informative or just fascinating resources that I can download at home and take to work. It helps make my workday much more efficient. Youtube's webinars are wonderful. But it's difficult to focus on the content even when interrupted many times. If you're familiar with what I'm talking about... You'll understand what I'm talking about.
My son is sometimes with me on my way to work. These are the days that my spouse works her night shift and it's impossible for us to not go home. So I pack him in the intention of setting him up with my computer screens and in a matter of minutes he's asleep. I wake him and give him my computer with a couple of songs. He's so content that he can watch the videos. Doing our own thing is what helps us work together. He seems to really enjoy joining me on my adventures, perhaps because he stays up most of the night, isn't it what kids want sometimes?
