I researched and was considering an Excalibur but there were some reviews that made me cautious. I was shocked at the reviews that mentioned it seemed flimsy. And exorbitant price for stainless steel trays... turned me off ! Wayyyy too costly.

Then I found this Kwasyo fruit dryer. I took a chance based on excellent reviews and I’m impressed !!!
It’s extremely well made. Light enough for me to handle it. But it sure has good solid construction ! It’s quite attractive looking. I love the door and lock. And the trays are perfect. Someone commented earlier about how water collects under the lip around the tray. And yes it does. First wash before use and I noticed that. Easy fix: I just let placed them on a slant in my sink and they drained just fine. Barely any water. To dry completely just put them in the dehydrator and turn it on for a few minutes. Moisture will evaporate. This is the ONLY thing that could be improved.
My fruit dried perfectly. Machine is quiet and I barely noticed it. Sides do get fairly warm but not fiery-hot. I can hold my hand on it for a few moments.
I dehydrated :
a bag of corn on 3 trays;
a bag of blueberries on 2 trays;
a bag of raspberries on 2 trays; and
a bag of hand picked Saskatoon berries on 5 trays
All that fit on the 12 trays. I’m very happy with this purchase. Told my sister about it and she’s ordering one too ! Just got it today. Sure hoping it lasts for years !
Btw: The temperature control is great. The trays and interior are very easy to clean. And I didn’t think I needed one with a timer, but it has one and I think I’m really going to enjoy this feature 😊
