9. Komik adalah suatu bentuk seni yang menggunakan gambar-gambar tidak bergerak yang disusun sedemikian rupa sehingga membentuk jalinan cerita. Biasanya, komik dicetak di atas kertas dan dilengkapi dengan teks (lihat gambar 2).
Komik dapat diterbitkan dalam berbagai bentuk, mulai dari strip dalam koran, dimuat dalam majalah, hingga berbentuk buku tersendiri.
Manga merupakan komik yang dibuat di Jepang, kata tersebut digunakan khusus untuk membicarakan tentang komik Jepang, sesuai dengan gaya yang dikembangkan di Jepang pada akhir abad ke-19. Kata tersebut memiliki prasejarah yang panjang dan sangat rumit di awal kesenian Jepang. Mangaka dibaca: man-ga-ka, atau ma-ng-ga-ka, adalah orang yang menggambar manga.
