my years in northern Michigan (U.S.) he became a big part of my life. It had me eating his food and learning about his culture. I learned about his history as well and about his community. I got to know his children and grandchildren, and his really great-grandchildren. He taught me to cook his food, his favorite thing to do, and we also cooked together.

The Food Network In Croatia

I started to watch The Food Network with Srednja and my eldest daughter, and shared it with them. They were just as much into watching the shows as I was. They all love pumpkin, and I can get them to watch anything pumpkin based. My husband, however, could care less, but I keep showing him stuff (he asked for more recipes when he found out how easy they were).

The Food Network In Slovenia

I spent a semester in Slovenia working on the UN. This was right after my youngest daughter was born, and I had a few months to kill. I had watched all the The Food Network shows and the first thing my husband did was to watch them with me. Then we watched the shows with our daughters – they love to try new food and they are very picky. So, when we had the opportunity to work for a few months in the country, I packed them all in my suitcase and we all went to Slovenia.

I am still very close to them now and we talk and Skype all the time. I cook all of the food I grew up eating, but I also ate a lot of Slovenian food. One of our neighbors who grew up in Slovenia and knows a lot of things about food is part of The Food Network here. It’s not as much of a staple now that we have the Food Network in Croatia, but it is still there.

The Food Network In Canada

I was watching the shows with my husband and youngest daughter while waiting for my husband to finish his last season of Wipeout. I shared it with my other children and my kids are so used to seeing it that it is now a part of their daily diet. They will watch it when they are
